When parents visit Bangkok without the person arranging the trip, first decide who meets them, who accompanies each journey and where they can rest. A four-night plan works better with one main activity per day than with a long attraction checklist.

Separate the booking contact from the travelling contact
Confirm the actual guests’ names and nominate a traveller who can receive local messages. Record BKK or DMK, flight, arrival date, exit or meeting sign, contact number and the waiting place if the meeting fails. Check roaming, mobile data and messaging before departure.
“Guide included” needs a clear scope
A driver, airport representative and language-speaking guide have different jobs. Ask whether help covers the airport only, hotel check-in, meals, sightseeing or a stated number of hours. Do not assume someone accompanies every free evening.
Print the hotel’s name, address and booking details as well as storing them on a phone. If friends join on different flights, assign a meeting and contact plan for each arrival.
Alternate activity and rest
Use the arrival day for settling in, one day for central temples, another for a chosen excursion or easier city activity, and another for shopping or a riverside outing. Put a hotel break into the hottest hours. The last day needs a confirmed rest plan after checkout before an evening airport transfer.
A boat ride is not automatically easy because passengers sit down: low seats, movement and steps at the pier matter. A massage should also be optional, with a comfortable alternative for those who do not participate.
Grand Palace admission and timing
The official ticket information checked on 20 October 2026 listed THB 500 for foreign admission, visiting 08:30–16:30 and ticket sales 08:30–15:30. Four foreign adults would therefore budget THB 2,000 for admission alone. Do not assume a foreign senior receives a free ticket.
Check the official visitor calendar for event closures and the visitor guidance for clothing and access. A guide-and-car package includes different services from a standalone admission ticket.
Ask the travellers about food
Confirm each person’s preferences rather than having one family member decide for everyone. Choose restaurants near the day’s route, with seats and booking arrangements that suit the group. Share personal health details only with the relevant person who needs them.
A large-print one-page outline of arrival, hotel, daily departure and final airport transfer can be more useful than a dense schedule. Keep local contact and free-time arrangements on the same sheet.
