Before paying for a Phuket pool villa, divide the trip into resort time, sightseeing and sea excursions. A room you will enjoy all day is a different purchase from a place you will leave every morning.
Choose the location around your real plans
The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phuket guide is a starting point for comparing areas. Map meals, beaches, tour piers and hotel entrances together. Check pool privacy, stairs, depth and the route from the room. Honeymoon decoration, breakfast and pickup must appear in the confirmation if you expect them to be included.
Compare transport in the correct units
Check the Phuket Smart Bus fare page and the actual route, stops and operating hours before choosing it for the airport. A public bus fare and a private transfer quote cover different services. Late arrivals, luggage and a hotel away from the stop can make a separate car more practical.
For a car, ask whether the price is per vehicle, one-way or return, and what waiting, parking and overtime cost. For a sea tour, check hotel pickup, meals, equipment and national-park fees. The Phi Phi operator’s inclusions illustrate why a low headline price may not cover the same package. An October promotion is not automatically valid for November travel.
Keep meals close to the day’s activities
Agree on allergies, seafood preferences and spice tolerance. Group an Old Town restaurant with an Old Town visit rather than repeatedly crossing the island for meals. Include drinks, tax, service charges and any minimum spend when comparing a special dinner.
A four-night outline with room to rest
Use the arrival day for settling in. Make one full day a resort day and another a main sea excursion. Put Old Town walking and shopping together on a separate day. Keep the departure day flexible, with a confirmed plan for luggage, showers and the gap after checkout.
A boat day may start early and finish late. Confirm vessel type, passenger numbers, time at sea, weather cancellation and refund rules. Avoid adding another distant excursion immediately afterwards.

Check your own visa or entry eligibility and the official Thailand Digital Arrival Card guidance. TDAC is separate from a visa, and the official submission is free. Follow the current arrival-date submission window and any exemptions that apply to you.
Is a private tour always better value?
Two travellers share fixed vehicle and guide costs between fewer people. Compare a private service for the journeys where flexibility matters most with a group boat trip, and check that “private” means the service you actually expect.
